Gmail Does Not Receive Calendar Invitations: Check Mail and Calendar Settings Separately

2026年10月29日 by wisechecker

A Calendar event missing from your calendar is different from an invitation email missing from Gmail. Google’s invitation settings can control when events appear automatically, while mail filters and delivery determine whether you can find the notification. Check both systems using the same organizer and recipient address.

Check the invitation email first

Ask the organizer to confirm the exact invited address and event. Search Gmail for the organizer or event title, including Spam and Trash where needed. Check category tabs and filters before asking for repeated invitations.

If the invitation was sent to a group or an alternate address, tell the organizer or administrator that detail. Delivery to a list and direct delivery to your primary account are not necessarily represented identically in Calendar.

Review how Calendar adds invitations

  1. On a computer, open Google Calendar settings.
  2. Under General, open Event settings.
  3. Inspect Add invitations to my calendar.
  4. Compare options such as known senders or adding an event after you respond.

Google states that these changes apply to new invitations, and administrators can restrict available choices. A known-sender setting can leave an invitation awaiting review rather than automatically placing it on the calendar.

Verify the event without inviting the wrong people

For a trusted invitation, respond using Gmail or Calendar and confirm the event appears in the intended account and calendar. Check the event’s actual date and time zone before concluding that it is absent.

Do not forward an invitation casually as a diagnostic test. Depending on permissions, forwarding can let another person respond or become involved in the event. Ask the organizer to correct the recipient instead.

If no invitation email exists and the organizer sees a delivery failure, investigate that failure separately. If the email exists but the event does not, focus on Calendar settings and account context. Do not turn on automatic acceptance of every unknown invitation merely to fix one expected meeting; retain the spam protections appropriate to your workflow.
