You can reduce Google sign-in prompts on other websites through Google Account and browser settings. Those prompts are different from a security notification asking you to verify a Google sign-in.
Change the Google prompt preference
Open the Sign in with Google settings linked from Google’s official guide and turn off Sign-in prompts if that is your preference.
Google describes effects across signed-in Android devices, Chrome, and some other browsers, but not every browser. Do not treat the account switch as a guarantee that every website’s own login message will disappear.
Check Chrome’s third-party sign-in controls
- On a computer, open Chrome Settings.
- Select Privacy and security → Site settings.
- Under Content, open Additional content settings → Third-party sign-in.
- Choose the prompt behavior you want.
Chrome distinguishes showing identity-service prompts from allowing supported automatic sign-in. If you prefer to confirm each login, review the automatic-sign-in option rather than removing useful account credentials.
Understand what the setting does not remove
Chrome says websites and identity providers can still show similar prompts using other mechanisms. The normal sign-in buttons can also remain available when browser-managed prompts are blocked.
Blocking prompts does not necessarily end an existing website session, delete its account, revoke every data permission, or cancel a subscription. Review those separately if your goal is disconnection rather than fewer interruptions.
Keep security prompts distinct
An unexpected request on your phone to approve a sign-in should be rejected and investigated. Do not assume changing a website-prompt preference resolves unauthorized account activity.
Likewise, a message from a caller asking you to approve a login is not an ordinary convenience prompt you should dismiss by accepting it.
If you still see the prompt
Check which browser profile and Google Account are active, then identify whether the message belongs to Chrome, Google, or the website itself. Consult that browser’s current controls. Avoid clearing all cookies or deleting linked-app relationships merely to hide a prompt; those actions can disrupt working access without targeting the actual setting.
