What You Can Do with the ZIP Creation, Extraction, and Inspection Tool
Create ZIPs from multiple files or folders, and list the contents of existing ZIPs before extraction. Select only the files you need; save one as the original format or multiple as a new ZIP.
If file names in old ZIPs from Japanese Windows appear garbled, you can reload them as CP932. It also removes dangerous relative paths, avoids duplicate file names with sequential numbering, and warns about expanded size and high compression ratios.

Steps to Create a ZIP from Multiple Files

How to Fix Garbled ZIP File Names
In the ZIP standard, some older files do not clearly specify the character encoding of file names. When Japanese Windows software saves names in CP932 and they are read as UTF-8, garbling occurs. Select “Japanese Windows ZIP (CP932)” again and reload the contents.
If Unicode path information is correctly stored in the ZIP, that information takes priority. If changing the character encoding does not fix the issue, renaming the files to alphanumeric characters at the source and recompressing is reliable. The file contents’ encoding is not changed.

supported formats and limitations
Supports standard ZIP creation and reading. Does not support password-protected or encrypted ZIPs, split ZIPs, RAR, or 7z. For confidential files requiring encryption, use your company’s designated secure file sharing service or encryption software.
Processing requires device memory to hold the file data and expanded data. For ZIPs over a few hundred MB or tens of thousands of files, using a PC extraction tool is safer. Smartphones may fail even with smaller sizes.

Not supported. Instead of sending passwords separately by email, use your organization’s designated secure sharing method.
Can you extract RAR or 7z?
No, Only ZIP Format is Supported.
Does the Encoding Setting Also Change File Contents?
No change. It only reinterprets the file names inside the ZIP using a different character encoding.
Can I Save Multiple Files Directly into One Archive?
To avoid browser consecutive download limits, selected multiple files are combined into a new ZIP.
Can You Detect Viruses Inside a ZIP?
Not possible. Do not open files of unknown origin; check them with your OS or organization’s antivirus.
