Searching for a contract buried in months of email threads can take hours. You might remember the sender or a keyword but not the exact date or subject line. Copilot in Outlook can scan your mailbox and locate specific information without manual scrolling. This article explains how to use natural language queries to find contracts, agreements, or any referenced document in older conversations.
Copilot uses Microsoft Graph to read your mailbox data and match it to your request. It does not require you to remember the exact file name or folder location. You simply describe what you are looking for, and Copilot surfaces the relevant email threads. The feature works in Outlook on the web, the new Outlook for Windows, and Outlook for Mac.
You need a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license to access this capability. The feature is not available with Copilot Pro or free Copilot. Your organization must also have Copilot enabled in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Once these prerequisites are met, you can start asking Copilot to find contracts in your inbox.
