Google Meet can transfer an active meeting between supported devices so the conversation continues on the device you now need. A transfer disconnects the original device. Check the destination and meeting carefully before choosing the transfer control, particularly when multiple devices are signed in to your account.
Move a mobile meeting to a computer
While the meeting is active on your phone, open Google Meet on the intended computer or laptop. Select the meeting you are currently attending and choose Switch here. Review the destination’s microphone, camera, and listening arrangement before speaking. Google’s documented behavior is that the original device disconnects when the meeting transfers.
Check Android-to-Android requirements
Google’s transfer guidance limits its Android cross-device workflow to Android version eleven or later. In the active meeting, tap the Cast control at the top right and select the destination device. On that destination, tap Switch here. If the destination is missing, consult the linked cross-device-services setup guidance rather than assuming every nearby phone or tablet automatically qualifies.
Verify the handover from both ends
Confirm that the new device can hear and be heard, and check that the old device has left the meeting. Avoid leaving the old phone on a speaker beside the computer during the transition. If your goal is to keep both devices connected, use the separate Join here too option under other joining options instead of choosing a transfer. The documented Android workflow does not establish that casting to any arbitrary display is supported. If the expected transfer control is absent, preserve the original connection while checking the supported account, device, and workflow rather than ending a working call prematurely.
