Removing someone from Google Meet disconnects that participant from the current call. Before using it, distinguish a person from a shared presentation and decide whether simple removal or a rejoining block is needed. The confirmation choices have different consequences.
Confirm you may remove participants
When Host Management is on, only a meeting host or co-host can remove another participant. When it is off, a participant from the organizer’s domain can remove someone. If the action is unavailable, contact the responsible moderator instead of trying to obtain another person’s account. Check the participant name and connection carefully so a similarly named guest is not removed accidentally.
Open the removal action
Hover over the person’s tile, open More options, and choose Remove from the call. Alternatively, open Show everyone, find the participant, and use More actions beside their name. In the confirmation box, select the appropriate action. Remove disconnects the person. Block also prevents rejoining the same meeting. An abuse-report option is available when reporting the participant’s behavior is appropriate.
Check the outcome and any return plan
Confirm that the intended connection has disappeared from the participant list. A blocked user is blocked only from the current meeting or concurrent meetings using that code, not every future meeting you host. Google says allowing that person back requires a manual invitation from inside the meeting. Tell other moderators whether the removal was accidental, temporary, or intended to prevent return, using only the information they need. If the problem was one noisy microphone rather than an admission or behavior issue, muting may have been the more suitable control. Keep a deliberate removal decision separate from deleting invitations or changing the whole meeting’s access type.
