Jump to a Specific Google Slides Slide During a Presentation

A direct slide jump in Google Slides helps you answer a question or return to an example without repeatedly advancing through the deck. Google’s presentation shortcuts support typing a slide number followed by Enter. Check the final deck’s numbering before relying on a memorized destination.

Know the intended destination

Before the talk, note the positions of key examples, summaries, and optional material. Verify them against the actual final presentation after any slide insertion, deletion, or reordering. A number copied from an earlier rehearsal may now identify another slide.

Use the direct jump

While the slideshow has focus, type the target number and press Enter. Google’s example describes entering seven followed by Enter to go to slide seven. You can also use the presentation’s available slide list when choosing visually is more reliable.

Read the displayed title before beginning your answer. Do not assume that a decorative or manually typed number on a slide is the same as its position in the deck.

Return to the planned sequence

After discussing the example, navigate back to the appropriate point in the talk. Practice this route during rehearsal so a question does not leave the presentation in an unrelated section. Check optional material for audience suitability even when it is normally skipped. A direct jump is a delivery shortcut; it does not make appendix slides private or verify that the audience should receive their contents. Keep the complete shared file appropriate for its viewers and maintain a clear route through the final deck.
