A saved Google Slides recording can be found from its presentation and in Drive. This is useful when you need to review or share a completed take. Confirm the actual recording file rather than assuming the newest-looking presentation revision identifies the final video.
Open the recording list
On a computer, open the presentation where the recording was created and click Rec. Select the intended recording from the list. Google’s guidance says recordings can be viewed, shared, and deleted from browsers beyond those used to create them.
Locate the Drive file
Google stores these recordings in a My Drive folder called Slides recordings. Find the matching file and inspect its title and contents. If several takes exist, compare the actual opening, corrected section, and ending instead of relying only on a similar filename.
The help states that Slides recording information is not available in Revision History. Use the recording list and actual Drive artifact rather than expecting the presentation’s ordinary edit history to function as a recording index.
Verify before reuse
Play the file and confirm sound, sequence, and completeness. Check whether the recording reflects the current approved version of the presentation; later slide edits should not be assumed to revise a previously captured video. Review the file’s audience permissions before sharing or embedding it elsewhere. If another person created the recording, coordinate with that owner when access is missing. Locating a file establishes where the artifact is stored, not that it is the right take or that everyone with presentation access can view it.
