Streaming Google Meet to YouTube requires more than a working meeting and a YouTube account. The Meet edition, administrator settings, channel permissions, approval status, and operator role must all support the broadcast. Prepare those requirements before opening a public event, and review the selected privacy level carefully.
Confirm the account, channel, and role
Check Google’s current eligible-edition list and any required administrator enablement. Join from a computer using the email associated with the YouTube channel you intend to use. The channel must be approved for live streaming, and the operator must have access to it. When host management is enabled, only hosts and co-hosts can start the stream; channel access remains necessary as well.
Select the YouTube event
In Meet, open Meeting tools, select Live streaming, and choose Stream with YouTube. In the event information panel, select the channel, then select or create the event. For a new event, review its title, privacy level, and caption language. Review YouTube’s terms before choosing Start Streaming. Copy the resulting live-stream link for the intended audience.
Verify the broadcast and end it deliberately
Check the audience playback and audio through an appropriate viewing arrangement. Keep private meeting content outside the broadcast. To finish, choose Stop Streaming. Google says a YouTube stream started from Meet cannot be paused; ending it and creating another stream is a separate action. The streamed video may remain on YouTube for later access, so agree on retention and privacy with the channel owner. Do not assume stopping the live event removes any resulting video or that your internal Meet audience restrictions control YouTube viewing.
