Enlarge Shared Content While Keeping Google Meet Participants Visible

Google Meet can enlarge shared content while keeping participant tiles visible. This helps when you need to read a presentation and watch a speaker or interpreter at the same time. The presentation’s Enlarge control is different from choosing a layout that devotes the whole view to one item.

Enlarge the shared presentation

While viewing a presentation, move to its bottom right corner and select Enlarge. Google’s documentation also identifies a Zoom control in this area. Check that the shared content grows and the participant tiles you need remain visible. If the presentation is not currently active, ask the presenter to confirm they are still sharing before looking for enlargement controls.

Keep the necessary people in view

Inspect the resulting participant area and identify the speaker or interpreter you follow. If you have instead selected Spotlight, the active speaker or shared screen fills the window; switch to a suitable layout when you need accompanying tiles. The number of visible tiles depends on the browser size and active content, so a larger presentation does not guarantee that everyone remains visible at once.

Return to the normal view

Use Minimize to leave the enlarged presentation view. If you zoomed into part of the content, return to a useful overview before the presenter moves to another section. As a viewer, dragging a zoomed presentation changes your own view, not everyone else’s. If text is still too small, ask the presenter to show a larger source view or provide an accessible file rather than repeatedly enlarging an unreadable image. Confirm that both the content and the important participant remain easy to follow before continuing a visually demanding part of the discussion.
