Google Slides on iPhone or iPad can present on the device and through supported external routes. Choose the intended output before the event and check what the audience actually sees. A successful on-device preview is not evidence that a receiver or meeting receives the correct screen and sound.
Present locally
Open the deck in the Slides app and tap Present > Present on this device. Swipe left or right to navigate. Google’s iOS instructions describe double-tapping the screen and choosing Close to exit.
Prepare an external route
For Chromecast, use the same Wi-Fi network as the receiver and the app’s Cast control. Google says guest mode is unsupported and notes that iOS Local Network permission can matter when the receiver is not found. Review that specific permission instead of changing unrelated network settings.
For Meet or AirPlay, use the appropriate route for the current device and operating-system interface. Google’s help includes AirPlay guidance, but system control placement can differ across device generations; inspect the actual available receiver controls.
Verify delivery and exit
Check slide order, picture, sound, and notes visibility on the audience display. Test the end of the presentation and the control that stops sharing or casting. Use only an authorized display and network. If a route fails, record its exact symptom before making changes. Keep the file’s account and version clear when another presenter will take over. Each external route needs its own rehearsal rather than being assumed equivalent to the local device presentation.
