Google Account Business personalization controls recommendations for Google’s business products and services. Turning it off can reduce that category of suggestions, but it does not close a business account, cancel Workspace billing, remove a Business Profile, or stop every promotional message in every product.
Find the business recommendation setting
On Android, open Settings → Google → Manage your Google Account. Select People & sharing, find Business features, and open Business personalization. Choose the on or off state you want. Intermediate labels can vary by device.
Check the account’s email address before changing the setting. You might use a personal Google Account for a Business Profile while also having an unrelated employer-managed Workspace account. A change to one is not automatically a change to the other.
Understand why suggestions appeared
Google may enable business personalization when you sign up for a business product or indicate that the account will manage a business. Suggestions can include Business Profile, Workspace, Merchant Center, or Analytics, and may appear in places such as Search or Gmail.
You do not have to keep this setting on to use business-related products. Conversely, switching it on does not itself create a verified Business Profile, establish a paid subscription, or transfer ownership of a business asset. Follow the separate product’s setup and billing process only if you actually want that product.
Check availability and remaining prompts
Google’s guide says business personalization cannot be added to work, school, or other group accounts, or to eligible child accounts created by parents. If you cannot find the setting, first identify the account type rather than changing a birthday or creating another account to expose it.
Some business-product prompts may remain after you turn it off, particularly when you already use a business tool or have indicated a business purpose. That alone does not show the switch failed. Check the saved state, then use the relevant product’s notification or marketing controls for a remaining message. If the issue is an unwanted charge, inspect the subscription itself: a recommendation preference is not a cancellation request and will not stop an existing billing agreement.
