Google Security Checkup: Understand and Resolve Each Recommendation

2026年10月27日 by wisechecker

Google Security Checkup provides recommendations for the selected account. Resolve the actual issue behind each recommendation rather than merely dismissing warnings until the page looks clear.

Open the checkup directly

From Google Account, inspect Recommended actions in the profile menu or open the security section. Google uses different colors for recommendations of different urgency, and may show a green shield when no immediate action is recommended.

A green indicator is not a promise that every device is malware-free or that no data was ever copied. Continue reviewing a concrete suspicious event even if the summary looks healthy.

Review recovery information

Check that recovery email and phone details belong to you and remain accessible. Verify replacements before relying on them, and keep another working method available during any trust or activation period.

Recovery contacts and recovery selfie videos have eligibility and advance-setup requirements. Do not assume every method listed in general help is available to your account.

Review devices and sign-in protection

Account for the devices and sessions you recognize. Sign out obsolete or unfamiliar access, taking care not to remove your only usable verification route.

Inspect 2-Step Verification and passkeys. Prefer phishing-resistant methods where suitable, and maintain a backup that will still be available if your primary phone is lost.

Review app access and passwords

Read what each linked app can access and remove unnecessary or unauthorized connections. Do not disconnect a business-critical integration without understanding its role; if it is suspicious, coordinate containment with the administrator.

Password Checkup is a related tool for exposed, reused, or weak saved passwords. Change an unsafe password at the affected provider, then update the stored credential. Removing the saved entry alone does not repair the provider account.

Complete the review on your devices too

Keep operating systems, browsers, and apps updated, use screen locks, and inspect unfamiliar extensions. The account checkup cannot replace device maintenance.

After completing recommended actions, revisit the relevant settings and verify the saved result. If Google identifies a method you did not add, investigate it as a security event rather than approving it solely to remove the warning.
