A Google Account creation form that returns to an earlier screen does not have one universal cause. A field may have failed validation, a session may not be retained, or the browser may be interrupting the setup. Work out which stage repeats before changing account information or browser settings.
Check whether the form is rejecting something
- Read the whole screen for an error near the username, birthday, phone number, password, or verification-code field.
- Confirm that the account type is appropriate, particularly when creating an account for a child.
- If a code was requested, finish the current verification request instead of submitting codes from several open tabs.
- Check whether the account was already created by trying the official sign-in page once with the intended address.
Do not repeatedly press the final button because the page looks slow. An account may have been created even if the browser failed to display the next screen. An existing-account response requires a different diagnosis from a creation-form failure.
Test the browser session
Use an up-to-date browser and one setup tab. Google services need cookies for account sessions. Inspect site-specific restrictions or settings that remove site data when a tab closes. A blanket ban on all cookies can prevent the form from retaining progress.
If you have another supported browser on your own device, one controlled comparison can help identify a local problem. Record whether the same field or verification stage fails there. Do not treat changing browsers as a way to bypass phone, age, or account-eligibility requirements.
Check interference narrowly
If an extension appears to block part of the form, test that extension’s site-specific effect rather than disabling all browser protection. On a managed computer, ask the administrator about restrictions instead of changing organization policies yourself.
A private window can provide a comparison, but it does not prove that ordinary browsing is unsafe or that Google has blocked your account. Private sessions have different cookie and extension behavior, and some workflows may not behave identically there.
When to stop retrying
If the page presents a verification limit or a waiting instruction, follow that instruction. Avoid invented “reset” timers or services promising to remove Google’s verification checks.
For further diagnosis, keep the exact error, browser version, account type, and stage of setup. Exclude passwords, codes, and identity documents from screenshots. The goal is to isolate a reproducible failure, not to create several near-identical accounts while testing.
